Cookies and Local Storage Notice
Last updated: 31 October 2026
We follow the ePrivacy rules (in Germany § 25 TDDDG) and equivalents elsewhere. Short version: Sprichst uses only storage that is strictly necessary to give you the service you asked for, so it needs no consent banner. There are no analytics, advertising, social media, fingerprinting or session-replay scripts, and no third-party cookies.
What is stored on your device
| What | Where | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sign-in session (Firebase Authentication) | Browser IndexedDB or the phone's secure storage | Keeps you signed in | Until you sign out |
| Learning profile cache and settings | Browser local storage / app storage | Lets the app work offline and fast | Until you reset, sign out and clear, or uninstall |
| Minutes studied per day, for the last 14 days | Browser local storage / app storage (never sent to our cloud) | Draws the "This week" chart on Home and Progress | Until you reset your progress, delete your account, clear site data or uninstall |
| AI provider API key, one per provider (only if you add one) | Secure storage (Keychain / Android Keystore; the browser's protected storage on the web) | Lets the app call your chosen AI provider as you | Until you remove it |
| AI provider, model and custom server address (not secret) | Local storage | Remembers which provider and model you picked | Until you change it |
| Downloaded AI models and voices (phone app) | App storage | Offline tutor and speech | Until you delete them |
| Service worker and its cache (web) | Browser cache | Loads the web app faster and offline | Until updated or cleared |
What is not used
- No analytics (no Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Mixpanel, Hotjar, Clarity or similar).
- No session replay or screen recording.
- No advertising or social pixels.
- No Google Fonts, Google-hosted libraries or content delivery networks. All fonts, scripts and the Firebase code are bundled with the app and served from our own origin.
- No cookies set by us. (Firebase may use browser storage, as listed above.)
Contact with third parties
When you press "Continue with Google", your browser contacts Google to sign you in; Firebase and Cloud Firestore are contacted when you sign in and save progress. These are requests you triggered to provide the service. See the Privacy Policy.
Managing storage
You can clear site data in your browser or remove the app at any time. Doing so signs you out and removes cached progress on that device; your account data in the cloud is untouched until you delete the account.
