Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 8 October 2026
We want everyone to be able to learn with Sprichst. Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 level AA and EN 301 549, in line with the European Accessibility Act and similar laws. We have not yet had a full external audit, so we do not claim conformance. Sprichst is a free, non-commercial project run by one person, so it falls under the micro-enterprise exemption of the European Accessibility Act. We still work towards the standard and welcome reports of barriers.
What is in place
- Light, dark or your device's own appearance (Account → Appearance). Every text and control colour pair is checked against WCAG AA contrast in both, by automated tests.
- Buttons and icon buttons have a minimum touch target of 48 by 48 pixels.
- Text follows your device's text-size setting.
- When your device asks to reduce motion, animations (headings, option tiles, voice mode) become instant and the loading arc stops, with words beside it.
- Many controls carry labels or tooltips for screen readers (VoiceOver, TalkBack).
- Every spoken reply is also shown as text.
Known limits
- Not every control has been checked with a screen reader; some labels may be missing or unclear.
- Some games depend on quick reactions or on seeing the screen and have no alternative yet.
- The web version draws the interface on a canvas, which exposes less structure to assistive technology than a native page.
- AI-generated text can be long or oddly formatted.
